Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI assistant integrated directly into the Microsoft 365 apps billions of people already use — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. It helps draft documents, analyze spreadsheets, create presentations from prompts, summarize email threads, and generate meeting summaries with action items, all within the familiar Office interface.
The platform's biggest advantage is zero adoption friction — users don't need to learn a new tool or switch contexts. Copilot Chat provides a standalone AI assistant with access to your Microsoft 365 data (emails, files, calendar), while Copilot Studio lets organizations build custom AI agents. The trade-off is that it requires an existing Microsoft 365 subscription and adds $18–30/user/month on top.
