Duolingo Max

Duolingo Max is the premium tier of the world's most popular language learning app, supercharged with GPT-4-powered AI features. It adds two key capabilities on top of the standard Duolingo experience: Roleplay, which lets you practice real-world conversations with AI characters in context-rich scenarios, and Explain My Answer, which gives you personalized grammar breakdowns when you get an answer wrong.

The core Duolingo platform offers bite-sized, gamified lessons across 40+ languages with spaced repetition, streak tracking, and leaderboards. Max takes this further by introducing open-ended conversational practice — something that was historically missing from app-based language learning. Instead of just choosing the right answer from multiple choices, you actually construct sentences and have back-and-forth exchanges.

Duolingo Max is currently available for Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean (with more languages being added). It builds on the Plus tier by removing ads, offering unlimited hearts, and adding the AI features.
